I don't like that the Train Depot should be restored. I think that it should be torn down & replaced with a different building. They could keep something from the original building as a historical memento.
If the town purchased the Union Pacific land behind Taylor Road what would they do with it?
Why would the town be looking into moderate housing? Isn't that up to developers? Aren't they building some moderate priced housing soon? Called the Loomis Villa?
I think that the town should look into doing an on-line type survery instead of standing out in front of Raley's.

Housing in Loomis is already reasonable compared to housing around the area. Subsidies mean some people pay more than they should so others can pay less--that is not fair! And don't tell me it's just the builder who is already making lots of money--he will just add the cost of the subsidy to the other houses he sells. Subsidies are garbage! How could this benefit anyone?

Yes, please buy the Taylor Rd land and get it out of the hands of the railroad. Even if it means selling it later on--at least something can be done with it.

Finally, we need to rebuild the train depot, not remodel it. That building is a total disaster. It will cost way too much of the little money our town has to remodel and nothing will be gained. If we rebuild, we can make a building that is achitecturally pleasing to the eye.
