When I was a member of the Placer County Transportation Commission I was able to have them approve a train stop for Loomis in their expansion plans. This year it was hoped that train service from Sacramento to Auburn would be expanded from the present 2 trains a day to 8 trains a day and then the Loomis stop would happen.
UP has stated that they will not allow any more passenger trains on the tracks so the Loomis stop has been put on hold for the present.

In case you haven't noticed, Ucovich has a hard time answering the tough questions directly(receiving developer money , and then acting like if someone else does, they are selling Loomis out) so what I gleam from his answer is, not in our lifetime right?
Besides the fact that this non stop by UP is OLD NEWS. Didn't he already note this before????
People keep deluding themselves by thinking that UP is going to incur the cost of stopping here for a town as small as Loomis, that's because Ucovich has dangled that carrot for years in front of people instead of being up front about it. That's why he keeps eluding to, "when he was on PCTC",like there was a chance as long as he was there. I know someone who works for UP, he just laughed when I asked.
So did they happen to say why it was put on hold, or how long it is put on hold?
I'm thinking that if people in the town contacted UP and convinced that it would be worthwhile to them, then maybe they would reconsider it.
Maybe there's someone on the PCTC that we can call?
So if we can't get the UP folks to have a train stop at the depot, explain to me why did we spend soo much money to update the train depot? I really, really hope that it just wasn't for a meeting hall.
That would be a really expensive meeting hall.
didnt they just buy the building near the Post Office for the meeting hall? I am so confused here.
