If all goes well the park could be ready in two years.
First the Park and Open Space commission must select a park planner. (4 months)
Second they will work with the planner in designing the park (6 to 8 months)
Third the town council will call and award bids (3 months)
Fourth The park will be built (6 to 9 months depending on weather)
Hopefully the park would be ready for the 2010 Eggplant Festival

Does this mean that the Town of Loomis will start moving away from contracts with other agencies for town services and start to have them for themselves? Will the Town also be taking over the parks on King Road? Will the town now have it's own police dept., etc.?
It doesn't seem like a park next to train tracks would be very safe for kids.
Why is the Town solicting the bids for the park instead of the Park and Open Space Commission?
