The Loomis Council approved requesting the Park and Open Space Commission to began the planning process for a downtown park next to the train depot. This will be the first park that the Town will construct in it's history. The town has a state grant of about $220,00 and other grant money to do this project. The park will include a tot lot. water feature, picnic tables and other items . This park will be come the focal point of the downtown.

Looking forward to it! When do they think it will be completed?
Hello
hey is that bachelor paul a prospective date for ucovich????
I like it. Great idea. Do a classy job.
Hopefully this park project won't take as long as the Train Depot to complete.

Is it just me or does planning to build a park near train tracks seem like a very unsafe idea?
It is just you! What do you think, the town is going to design a park for kids to play on the rr tracks? There is an entire Eggplant Festival next to the train depot every year.
At the Eggplant Festival the adults out number the kids about 4 to 1, if not more, if you build a park I imagine that there will be more kids there (possibly unsupervised from what I see on minimum days) who would be going there to play. Not just little kids, but older grade school kids who would like nothing more than a thrill of out running a train. Think this thru a little more. This is not a safe idea. I think that there's two groups in Loomis, the ones that think realistically, and another who live in a dream world and are totally oblivious to logic. So is someone going to erect a 6 foot fence to keep kids from going on to the tracks?
At the Eggplant Festival (which is only held one day per year) the adults out number the kids. There is a fence between the tracks & the festival, but you can't see it because of all of the booths set up. Is the Town going to build a 6 foot high fence around this park? Most of the kids going to it would be unsupervised. Something needs to be done for the kids that are older, like 6th, 7th, 8th grades. You should see them on minumum days after school standing out in the middle of the parkin lot in front of Starbuck's. Help our kids, but plan it in a safe manner.
