As a member of the Loomis Chamber of Commerce for about 15 years I can say that it's main function is social. It has monthly mixers so the members can chat among one another. The chamber put on 3 or 4 business lunches where a speaker is brought in. The other main activity of th Chamber is the Egg Plant Festival.
Does the Chamber work to bring in new business? The answer is no. In other communities the chamber of commerce and the local city try to attract new business, Roseville, Auburn and Sacramento are examples of this.
Since a major portion of it's revenue comes from sales tax which business generate the Town must take and active role in attracting new business and keeping exiting business. The time is now for Loomis to do this.

Hey, I thought you guys were slow growth? What happened?
The slow-growth comment is not well thought out. Loomis could be 'no growth' and still want it's existing buildings improved and occupied.
The system needs to get a good shake. It's not working the way it is.
