How could our Town Leaders allow a Special Election like this to take place?
This flies in the face of everything considered democratic about an election and this is a direct quote from the Placer County Elections Divison.
We went from: One vote per registered voter to one vote per parcel of land. So the rich will decide this election, not the registered voters.
We went from: Secret ballot to signing your name to your ballot so that all of the world can see how you voted. I guess this puts no pressure on anyone on how they should chose to vote?
We went from: Being able to go down to the polls to cast your vote with clerks, judges, inspectors to sending your ballot to the Post Office Box that is addressed to a special office controlled by the LFPD.
I don't care what good cause this is for, this is totally unacceptable as far as elections go.
How did our Town Leadership let this happen?
Our soliders have died on the battlefields so that we can live in a democracy and now we have an election like this?
Actually do something to save what's left of our beautiful open space instead of just jawboning about it. The town needs to buy easements and/or land with the development fees already collected. Oak mitigation fees should go to buy and protect existing oaks on ecologically valuable land. Putting crape myrtles in front yards does not mitigate for destroying 200 year old oak trees.

NEW TOWN COUNCIL, THROW THIS BUNCH OUT WITH 2007 AND LETS START ANEW.
Why did the Town Council back the Fire Assessment ballot?
I thought that the Town Council was suppose represent the Town?
Not everyone in the town agrees with this assessment.
If not everyone agrees with it why did the Council back it?
This Council does not represent me in this Town.
This is another good reason why this Council should go!
