on an unrelated topic... Loomis Hardware is going out of business. The town council is killing our downtown by its continued disinterest in backing a revitalization plan.
I called the Placer County Elections Division regarding the legality of this election.
They said that it flies in the face of everything considered democratic about an election.
The wealthy will decide this election.
The more land you own, the more votes you get.
It's not a secret ballot. Everyone knows how you voted. You only get one vote per parcel, not per registered voter.
The votes are all mailed in, and then who knows what happens to them.
The PC Elections Division is working with Ted Gaines office to make it illegal to hold elections like this in the future. That's how bad it is.
Our Town Council is up in there making resolutions to back this undemocratic election, but they can't help the local businesses with an redevelopment/revitalization plan.
Every day you see another business leaving our town. Empty store fronts landscape our town.
Doesn't this bother the Town Council one little bit at all?
