What can you say? This building is old, falling apart, and ugly. Can we please forget we ever wasted money on this thing, get rid of it, and build something nice in its place?
At this point, it doesn't matter so much to me what we do with it as it does that we do something with it. It has been sitting around there for years now. If we have the money, let's do something... anything.
I agree. It would have made more sense to use this ugly building for the Chamber of Commerce instead of putting up an even uglier building. Or they could have torn this one down and put a, hopefully, better-looking Chamber office in its place. Instead, we now have two blights on the community. It just gets worse every day!
It was about 2 years ago I received a postcard in the mail with the very same question 'What should we do with the train depot'? What did you do with the responses? Why are you asking again. I agree with the earlier post that says 'do something... anything'. Why has it taken so long? It is such an eyesore there and probably a liability. People are bound to criticize you no matter which you choose--just choose one and do it and don't wait another 2, 4, 6 years or more!
